This is the closest thing I could find to an actual steam fan
I am a steam fan. But I couldn't find a picture of a steam fan to put on the site.
This is the closest thing I could find.
It is really a belt driven fan allowing any form of power to be used to spin it.
There is a fan that runs on top of a woodburner that I'm going to get a picture of from Lehman's Hardware.
Actually here are a couple versions, a large and a small one. They use the heat to generate electricity and then run the small electric motor with it. It really seems a "fire powered" steam fan would be great as a space heater. But the use as a cooling fan is a little counter-intuitive.
Here are a couple movie links to try out, They are 5.22 MB files so it could take quite a while if you are dial up. Now that I know how to do it, I can make the files smaller, but that's a job for when I'm laid up from surgery. There is sound, so be ready to turn down your speakers.
